Quick hits from the brain of Kate:

Meerkat Manor is addictive. Seriously, it's like a soap opera comprised of animals. Oh the drama! I'm so sad that Flower died. She was the best dominant female ever. *sniff*

Does anyone else wonder if Snape rolled over in his grave when James Potter's grandson was named after him? I'm sure Harry meant well, but I can't imagine it would be an honor Severus would've wanted.

Last night I tried to (finally) take my car up to get a state inspection and it wouldn't start. I really hope it's just the battery and not the alternator.

If you aren't reading Three Thousand Days of Innocence over on FIA, why the heck not? It's so good!

I need to sort some books so I can take them up to the used bookstore for credit. Woo!

I kind of wish I watched The Office, but I don't need to get interested in yet another show. Like Heroes, which I'm watching now. Hiro is my favorite. He's such a dreamer.

I need to do laundry. I don't want to do laundry. Suckage.

Stamps. I need stamps.

Um. That's all for now.

I got mail from [livejournal.com profile] stellarlyssa! Hurrah! Also, I am practicing calling her by her real name, but I'm not sure I will ever give up 'Lys' entirely. I like Lys - it's got style, and so does she!

Long ass Harry Potter Meme! )
Well, I didn't do so hot with the whole prediction thing.

Serious Spoilers ahead )

I decided that the stupidity of a major newspaper printing spoilers in a book review they just couldn't hold on to for a few extra days deserved a response. Here is what I sent them:

"Thank you very much for taking away the pleasure of reading the last book in a beloved series. How hard would it have been to hold off printing your review until the book was released? It's only a few extra days. Do you really fancy that your book reviewer's thoughts are more valuable than the enjoyment of the millions of fans anxiously awaiting their copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? What arrogance, stupidity, and just plain meanness you possess. I hope you're all very pleased with yourselves, because those of us who hoped to read the final Harry Potter book without the 'benefit' of spoilers are not pleased at all.

Since your child tormenting quota seems to have been met, maybe now you can go kick some puppies!

With no respect whatsoever,

Kate Wilson"
Here are my thoughts on what will happen in Deathly Hallows. Some are very common beliefs, some are a result of my need for happy endings, some result from my love of certain characters, and some are just wild ideas that seems logical to me.

Let me make this little plea before we go on. I've been aggressively avoiding spoilers, and so far I've been pretty successful at it. I am aware that the alleged 'epilogue' is floating around on the internet, and that Scholastic has supoenaed the name of someone who posted photocopies of DH pages on photobucket.com. (This may even be the same instance - I don't know because I'm avoiding this information.)

In short, don't leave me any spoiler-y comments. I'll be really freakin' pissed. In fact, I think I'll go disable anonymous comments just to be safe.

On to my Trelawney-like predictions! )

That's all I can think of at the moment. I'll add more later, if I have forgotten something.

There's a really cute Q&A with Dan, Emma, and Rupert here: http://movies.aol.com/celebrity-interview-unscripted/harry-potter-and-the-order-of-the-phoenix-daniel-radcliffe-emma-watson-rupert-grint

in which Rupert admits he'd rather die than kiss Emma.

Ok, that's not really what he means, but it was funny just the same.

Here are some OOTP pics. I hadn't seen them before, so I'm posting them in case you haven't either. My favorite is the one of Neville looking bad ass. Draco's hair is too yellow. Will they ever get that right?

I've had the best time making icons last night. I've got loads of artsy icons, HP [livejournal.com profile] twinkly art icons, Nip/Tuck icons, a Cillian Murphy icon, Jason Isaacs icons, Big Ben icons, and a Louisville icon I made from a picture Michelle sent me. Take any you like, but please credit if you do. Comments are nice, too. No hotlinking, please.

Whew! That was a lot of LJ coding. I hope you all like them! I had a blast making them.
