I'm home today, but it's hardly a 'day off'. Meredith leaves for Hawaii on the 23rd and needs to have a photo ID by then. Since I don't want to go the the DMV more than is absolutely necessary, I'm giving in and letting her get her learner's permit even though her grades still suck. I have explained that having the permit and using the permit are not synonymous.
Plan for today:
1) Shower and shave
2) Get gas
3) Mail renewed lease back to property management folks
4) Get Mer's birth certificate and social security card from safe deposit box
5) Check savings bonds in SDB and see if any are mature and can be cashed in so that gas and food can be bought through the end of next week.
6) If possible, cash bonds.
7) Drop off rent check
8) Transfer funds to cover rent check
9) Pick Meredith up from school
10) Go to DMV to have her test for her learner's permit, have paperwork for ID card ready in case she doesn't pass.
11) Ignore Meredith's pleas to let her drive home from DMV
12) Figure out what's for dinner (Funnily enough, beef probably will be what's for dinner. Is James Garner still the spokesman for beef? For some reason Sam Elliott's voice is in my head.)
Richard and Tracey invited us to a fundraiser event at Sheridan's school for tomorrow, but I think I might try to get James to beg off. We don't have any funds to help them out and it's a 45 minute drive each way to R&T's place. Too much gas for a fundraiser we can't participate in. It'd be different if we were just hanging out with R&T and the kids, but meh.

In VA, you have to get all of the ten signs they give you and get 20 out of 25 general questions. Mer got all the signs and 19 of the general questions. She was bummed.
