Now that I have finally turned in my long overdue exchange fic, I need to get back to work on my WIPs. The upside of the challenge was that I got to write a plot bunny that's been niggling at me for a long time, but I never had time for. One down!
First on the list is Anniversary, if for no other reason than so the youngsters at MNFF will get off my back.
Then I need to finish my smutty one shot. I'm hoping to get that done in time to post it for the HateSex! theme on
smut_friday, which is August 10th. That gives me a month, and all I have left is the hard part! So, we'll see.
I've got a good chunk of DIM chapter 3 written, which I should hurry up and finish since I haven't updated that in over two years. The problem is I really have NO IDEA where I'm going with the story. It was the sort of thing where I started it really gung ho and then thought, "Oh, right. A plot would be good." I like it too much to take it down, though. It's sappy and OOC, but whatever. I still dig it.
Then, of course, there's the mail order bride story I started for Pud's contest last year. I have a rough plan for that one, but I don't have much done in the way of writing yet.
Other things that have been going on in my life:
- I truly think that Meredith is trying to drive me (and perhaps herself) to an early grave. It scares me to death that she'll be legally an adult next year. I really worry about her. There is a story behind this, but I'm not going to go into it now. Two people are very lucky I didn't hurt them, though. It was only through amazing restraint and the presence of the police that I was able to hold back. Yeah, fun times in Manassas!
- Picabo stayed with Richard and Tracey last week because James was going to be doing so much running around. Friday night while they were out she managed to unlock and open the door to their apartment and let herself out. Fortunately, a) she didn't encounter any other dogs while talking herself for a walk, and b) one of the neighbors I met on the 4th saw her and came to my apartment to let me know she was running around by herself. She came right away when I called her, and stayed the night at my place.
My nephew Pike's heroes are NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield and Iron Chef Bobby Flay. He's so cool.
OOTP is going to be playing in the IMAX theatre here, but I don't have tickets to see it there and they are sold out. Boo. Can you imagine? Jason Isaacs in IMAX? *sigh*
