My computer has gotten a really obnoxious adware infestation. I think we have some viruses, too. The adware has taken over my IE homepage, which had been set up as my LJ Recent Entries page. Now when I try to go to that page, I end up on one that screams how at risk my computer is. I may seriously have to consider hunting down the people that make these ads and killing them. Why would I ever buy something from a company that has made my life such a pain in the ass? It's interent racketeering. They are extorting 'protection money'. They try to force people to buy something that will fix the problem they created. I hate those bastards, whoever they are.
Now I'm running our various adware, spyware and virus scans to try to rid the system of this problem. James is irritated because he started a scan yesterday and had to leave it running while he went to do something else and I, unwittingly, restarted the computer. What am I? Fatima the freaking mind-reader? How am I supposed to know he's got a scan running under his account, if he doesn't tell me?
