I have done a whole lot of nothing this weekend.

On Friday night, we went to dinner with Becky & Manny, then hung out at their house chatting until 11:00 or so. Becky gave me this... I don't know what they're called... hmmm... It's a shape cut in graduated sizes that you attach to a battery operated spinner and it reflects light in a really neat way. Mine is a cross and the metal is just regular unpainted silvery color. (Does anyone know the things I'm talking about?) Anyway, I had noticed this particular one at the craft show I worked with Becky, and I thought it was really pretty. So, they bought me one as a thank you for helping out that day. I was very excited. Also, Becky and Manny have been on a diet (I forget the name of it) for the last few months and she's gone from a size 12 to a size 6. She looks really good, and weighs about the same as Meredith now, although they are built very differently and Becky's my age.

Saturday, James and I ran a couple errands in the morning and then just hung around the house. Mid-afternoon he fell asleep and I was goofing around with the Sims, and that's how we stayed until I went to bed around midnight. We didn't have dinner or anything. Of course, having slept so long already meant James was wide awake in the middle of the night, so around 3:30 or 4:00 I woke up to the sound of him replacing a piece on his shower head.

I went back to sleep and got up on Sunday with a raging headache that didn't go away until well into the afternoon. We were supposed to go over to Richard and Tracey's, but I just didn't feel up to it, so we're going over Monday afternoon. I tried to write a bit today, but I had to do it longhand, since James was on the computer, and every time I sat down in my 'comfy chair' I fell asleep. We went to Outback for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. I did re-pot my seedling tomatoes, so the day wasn't completely without productiveness.

What a gripping life I lead, eh? You'd think with a long weekend and no child at home, we'd find something a bit more interesting to do. I have been reading a little book called 'By Hook or By Crook', which explains the origins of certain words and phrases in the English language. It's pretty amusing.

Speaking of Meredith, she called me at about 1:30 Saturday morning. They miscalculated the time difference. They had spent Friday at Pearl Harbor. Saturday they had plans to go parasailing and for a ride in a glass bottomed boat. She has not gotten very tan, apparently, and she's not happy about that. Overall, though, she seems to be having a good time.

I hope you are all having lovely, fun, or at least productive weekends. Talk to you all soon.

OK, well first of all I hate Becky!! *growls* But I am proud of her ;) I have a friend that just got under 200...here on LJ...I hate her, too! I'm dying to get right under 200!! DYING! OK. Enough.

I didn't do much, either. Still am not :) The hotness is starting in and Urs doesn't mix very well with hot. I like having the time off, but it always seems that when it's a Monday, the rest of the week is hell and drags on and on. I like it better when we get a Friday off...*nodding*

There is a CSI marathon going on SPIKE...but I really should read...*giggles*

When I first met Becky, we had each just turned 18. She was a tiny little thing, bouncing around 105-110 lbs. We got married within months of each other in 1997 and she went up to near 150 lbs. over the next several years. Now she's down to under 120. She's so excited. She really set her mind to it after she and Manny had trouble conceiving. Hopefully her IVF has gone as well as her diet, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

I weighed about 130-135 when I got pregnant with Meredith. Since having her, I've bounced around but the lowest I ever got was 145. That was 12 years ago. The last several years I've been between 200-220, until a few months ago when I just popped up 10 pounds out of the blue. I guess my metabolism is slowing down. *sigh* I need to develop some serious willpower. One day, right?
