Meredith has missed the last three days of school because of some flu-type thing. She's on antibiotics and claims to have thrown up this morning although I'm not sure she just didn't want one more day off. Because of this she probably will not be participating in the track meet this weekend, one of only two that are actually at her school and not far, far away. Bummer.
In other Meredith news, the little shit went hog wild on her cell phone last month racking up over $200 in text messaging charges alone (over a thousand messages both sent and received). We'd been letting her keep her phone so she could call us when she needed to be picked up from practice but that's over now. She'll just have to wait till we show up; no more phone for Meredith. What's especially irritating about the text messaging is that you know most of them were:
Incoming: wuzzup
Outgoing: nm u
Incoming: nm
Outgoing: r u goin to da icehouse
Incoming: yeah
She's going to be very lucky if she reaches 16.
My boss told me today that they are hiring my friend Pamela and that she will either go work at the Chantilly office or I can go work at the Chantilly office and she can take over the contract I'm currently on. It's up to me which way it goes. I'll probably go to Chantilly because it will cut my commute down considerably and I can carpool with Becky, which is much more fun than driving over an hour all by myself. My friend Denise works at the Chantilly office too. The only downside is giving up my contract because I LOVE the guys I'm working with. Right now I only work on the one contract and in Chantilly I'll have to juggle several of them but they'll be less complex. I don't think I can really turn down a shorter commute though. Getting home at 7:00 or 7:30 just sucks.
It's annual review time at work. I haven't had the whole review yet but I got the important news - the amount of my raise! It's not quite as high a percentage as I'm used to but it's a respectable increase. I'm willing to trade off a couple percentage points for the benefit of no longer being in a crappy work environment.
I finally uploaded the next chapter of Anniversary. It kind of sucks but at least it's out there and I can try to move past the stagnation (is that a word?) I've been suffering. I have a good chunk of the next Loyalties chapter written (well, for me it's a good chunk - my chapters are generally really short anyway)
KCotDT and Along Came a Wizard have both had new chapters recently. LadyRhiyana put out a new one-shot that was very short but, as always, very well written. I inquired about the next chapter of Diminished and she said she's hit a bit of block on that one so everyone send creative thoughts to LadyR because I freakin' love her stories.
As usual, laundry requires attention before I can go to bed so I'll sign off my ridiculously long entry now.
