Hee. That makes me laugh. I certainly was not downloading music in a less-than-legal fashion Saturday morning. That would just be wrong. Wrong, I say.

So, while this may not be exciting to anyone else, it is to me. I went clothes shopping for myself. I didn't buy a single thing for anyone else. This is a rare occurence. I've been alternating about 5 or six outfits for work for quite awhile now. So, I picked up three pair of pants and eight or nine tops. I'm very pleased with myself.

We're going to Becky and Manny's for the Superbowl. Richard & Tracey and the kids will be there, too. We do this every year. Should be a good time. James, Meredith, and Richard are the only big football fans, and none of their favorite teams are playing, so we don't have to worry about anyone sulking or being grumpy no matter who loses.

This is very random and outdated, but I am endlessly amused by the fact that the child of Andre 3000 and Erika Badu (sp?) is named Seven. Does that make him Seven 3000, or just 21,000? What crack are celebrities on when they name their children? Rumer, Apple, Coco, Seven, Kal El - for lack of a better term, celebrity parents are whack.

I do like the song Hey Ya, though. I'm not ashamed to admit it. To quote random American Bandstand dancers of the 70s - It has a good beat and you can dance to it.

Love to all!

How do you go shopping and not buy anything for anyone else? I've been trying to do that, unsuccessfully, for over 13 years!

Hee. It's difficult, isn't it? Here are the steps for self-shopping, from a total shopping novice.

1) Decide ahead of time where you are going and what sorts of things you are looking for. I needed a few pairs a pants or skirts, and as many tops as my budget would allow.

2) It helps if you are going to a store that only sells clothing for adult women. Avoid malls if at all possible. One of the places I went was a specialty store, the other was a small department store.

3) Don't take anyone with you. Don't even tell female children that you are going shopping for clothes.

4) Don't visit any sections of the store other than the ones you specifically need.

4) Pick up everything that remotely intrigues you and try everything on in one visit to the dressing room. Make your decisions while you've got the items on. Do this look good enough to justify the price tag?

5) Check out immediately.

In a nutshell, shop fast and don't allow your eye to roam into areas that are not for you. I love to browse, so this is always really hard for me. Yesterday I was in a bit of a hurry, though, so that spurred me on.

I do shop a lot better when I'm in a hurry, actually ;) Less time to think gives me less time to wibble, so decisions are made firmly *g* Number two is impossible for me to achieve unfortunately, as Tori is now a size bigger than me, so we shop at the same places. As for not taking the female children... I think they can smell when I'm going clothes shopping *must buy nose pegs* I always do one visit to the change rooms *nods* It beats walking back and forth!

Goodness, you must be a tiny little thing! I'm having more luck shopping without Meredith now that her social life involves friends who drive.

Well... I'm not big, I'm only 5'2". Tori, on the other hand, takes after hubby's side of the family and is already 5'3" at eleven. About the only thing I have that's bigger than hers is my boobs ;P
