1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).

Well, as most of my books are still packed, I went to a nearby box and grabbed one of the books from the top. Here is the text:

Up the stairs and there it was, dingier now that she got a good look at it, but still beautiful. The cream of its flanks was closer to a brown, and the gilt trim was mostly rubbed off. Its lips were carved in what she thought was a slight sneer, and Kaye grinned to see it.

Together, they dragged the horse over the floor toward the stairs. Leaning forward, the weight of it was resting on Corny as they eased it down step after step. It barely fit.

From Tithe by Holly Black

My mother-in-law is in town and staying with Richard and Tracey. She brought my niece Emily up with her to visit. Emily is almost 14. Mer and I went over and visited for awhile this evening before heading out to have dinner with her dad and aunt, and their friends. Robbie and crew go out most Thursday nights somewhere or other. They've been trying to get me to come along for awhile now. So, tonight I did, and we had a good time. Whether I continue to go will depend on finances and my mood.

There's not much else going on. My depression floats in and out, but it's manageable. I need to finish hooking up my printer and scanner, find my printer cartridges and blank CDs, and get busy on the projects I have promised people. That will probably be a weekend job because I have a hard time getting motivated to be productive after getting home from work. Bear with me, dears, I'll get it together eventually.

While grabbing the book for the meme tonight, I also came across a book I promised to send Urs. I'll pack that up when I have some cards ready to send you, hun!

*hugs* Hope your depression clears up totally! I am kinda going thru something similar so I can totally relate.

Thanks, I'm sure it will fade eventually. Just one of life's trials, you know?

I hope yours is short lived, too!

I love that scene in Tithe. *sighs* How lovely!

p.s. Have you read Twilight?

I like that scene, too. Though it doesn't quite measure up to scenes with Roiben, my fairy crush.

I have not read Twilight, but Lys mentioned it to me the other day. I suppose I'll have to check it out now that I've got two of you recommending it. I have to unpack and read City of Bones first, though. I still haven't gotten to that one.

*huggles my Katie-Bugg ever so tight* ♥♥ I am praying about your depression and sending lotsa love and encouragement your way. I think I understand what you're going through. A lot of things at once...not being the surest about everything...I don't know, maybe I shouldn't say all of it here, but just know that I love you and am wanting you to be happy on the inside again. *still lovehuggling*

No rush, Lovey. I'm right here. X) ♥♥

*cuddles and is comforted* It is a lot of change at once. Relationships are changing, and not all the way I want them to. Bah. I'll write you a letter. *sigh* I know it will all get better at some point, but the waiting is not fun.

I didn't have a chance to comment at the time, but I did see the new pictures of Eli Joy! God bless her mother for all she's going through. The little schnooky seems to be taking it all in stride, though. She's such a lamb. *snuggles her*

I'm glad you got your mom settled back where she's happiest. And I hope she recovers well and quickly. Sometimes doctors need a good, swift kick in order to accept that they don't always know best.

If I get home at a reasonable time, I'll try to set up my printer tonight. Otherwise I'll do it in the morning. *hugs*

I figured it was a lot of that. It's hard, I can imagine. I'll look forward to your letter. I still need to write you about Rob. *sigh* For what it is worth, though, you are handling things pretty well on the outside anyway. You do need to get it out so the inside can be in sync. *huggles tight* ♥♥

Yes, Mom is in the mountains and doing therapy twice a day. Thank goodness! *relieved* Thank-you, honey-Bugg. :)

Isn't she a schnooky? *grins* You see those fat baby arms and legs? You'd never know she has a problem eating. *shakes head and grinning* That's God. hehe! X)

Love you, love you! ♥♥
