mugglechump: (Charlie Brown: reading)

I stayed up all night reading. Literally. That was a bad idea. (/understatement) I did finally decide I needed a little bit of sleep in order to function today, and climbed in bed from ~7:15-8:45 this morning. I remarkably functional for only having had an hour and a half of sleep, but I'd love to head home and crawl under my covers again.

It's been raining for a couple days off and on, so I've decided not to take Mer to practice tonight. She could only participate in the running, anyway. She can't actually play soccer until the end of the week. I should probably clue her in on the change of plans for the evening.

And really, Sookie and VB need to get back together. I really, really want them together. Not that the alternatives aren't yummy and intriguing, but I love VB best despite his faults and the things he's done.

How many of the books have you read? Because on towards books 4 and 5, VB starts to look a lot different. I now no longer feel guilty about liking Eric better.

I've only really read 1-4, but I skipped ahead a bit because I couldn't stand it. I know the things VB did, and that they were terrible, but I still see him as the most sincere in his overall affection for Sookie. Eric is awesome, but I don't see him as a long term option. I am realistic enough to know that VB doesn't have a lot of hope in this area, but I'm too enamored with him to write the possibility off yet.

Having a blond moment here...what are you reading?
I'm starting to read another series and I think you might like it too. I'll bet that you have read it before though. Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising. It's an old series that is as old as me, but since there is a movie coming out this fall, I felt that I needed to read it before I see it. Beth is reading the Golden Compass books too in prep for its movie this winter.

I'm reading the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. There are seven books in the series so far, and the heroine is a pretty, young telepath named Sookie Stackhouse. [livejournal.com profile] mynuet turned me onto them last week. Lots of fun, lots of darkness, and a significant amount of rather tasty vampire sex. *sigh*

I haven't read The Dark Is Rising. I've only been into fantasy for a few years. I'll have to check it out!

*rubs hands together* more books...you could get me into some serious trouble you know. Sounds good and looks good enough for me. I will have to wait until next month though to start getting them.

I have them all in soft copy. If you download Microsoft Reader (free), I can just email them to you.

That would be sooo cool! Thanks! Would you like me to do the same with the Dark Is Rising sequence? Mind you I only have the first two of the five (yes I have to wait until the 1st for the other three). If you explain the details of how to do it...I will get it done this weekend.

Hope you got some sleep last night! Talk to you later!
