Ok, so I got intrigued when [personal profile] mynuet started talking about the Sims 2 game. So I bought it. I am now addicted. My husband is now addicted. We look at each other resentfully when one of us is bogarting the computer. My whines of, "I've been working so much, I just want to unwind for a little while," fall on deaf ears.

I've created a single chick, a bit of a tart really, and she is best friends with Nina Calliente. Despite being a tart, she can't seem to get her woohoo on with anyone. Of course, she hasn't met Don Lothario yet and most of the guys she has met are married. But still!

I've also created a couple that were originally roommates, but who have since gotten married and had a baby. At least someone is getting some woohoo. I've named them after characters from Pride & Prejudice. Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth Darcy are the couple. Their daughter is Georgiana. Wherever I go, geekdom follows.

Random comments about the game:

Darrin Dreamer is totally gay. I don't know how his son came about, because that man is FLAMING! He cries at everything and totally rebuffs my tarty charms. Kennedy Cox is a jerk. Nina and Dina are kind of slutty.

My right shoulder is bothering me. I don't know if I've slept on it wrong recently or if I've hurt it somehow. That would be very sad, as the only thing I do on a regular basis with my right arm is open doors. Fairly heavy doors at work usually, but still, injuring yourself via building entry is just sad. Oh, woe is me, all this door opening is bringing me down.

You are truly ebil!

How did you afford the big house? I can't seem to keep amass much fortune. Did you use the motherlode cheat or do Lucy and Cissy just have awesome careers?

James went out and bought the Night Life expansion pack 'for me' (right), but we haven't loaded it yet. It's all I can do to keep my guys alive, clubbing would be a bit much at the moment.

I totally used the motherlode cheat. The Malfoys were born rich!

I haven't played with Nightlife yet. Installing and playing the pirated versions requires running all sorts of software, and so I figured I'd play with my completely legit version first, until it got boring.

Oh, but in Nightlife, you get a new cheat code - maxmotives gets all your sims up to full on their status thingies, so you can concentrate on doing stuff like studying cooking rather than keeping their bladder from exploding.

I wish I'd had that cheat while Elizabeth was pregnant. Oi! Red zone hunger, enery and fun all the time, on top of her being an anal compulsive freak to begin with (Virgo).

Yeah, and then you give them the command to go start working off one of the reds and they pause to yell at you. Just go, you twit!

I have to admit, it's funny as hell to watch Lucius, Narcissa, and Draco, all of whom are highly fastidious, grin and cheer when they get to scrub something.

Yeah, Elizabeth made a very appreciative noise when I had her make up the bed yesterday.

My division manager is standing outside my office talking about Harry Potter to people that are obviously disinterested. Pretty funny. Reminds me of me.

I was babbling at someone on im about my HP sims before I realized just how boring I was being. *^^* Ah, geekdom, how you've drawn me in.

James stopped by Target to see if they had University. They were out, but he got me the family fun expansion with new clothes and house stuff. I'm so geeked!

My geekdom helps in my parenting. Whenever Meredith is being annoying or not listening, I start spouting random Harry Potter trivia with her until she gives it up.

I got University at Walmart for about $30. :D

What kind of stuff is in the family fun pack? Anything to die for?

From: [identity profile] mugglechump.livejournal.com

He just got it yesterday and I didn't get home until midnight, so I haven't had a chance to load it. I'll let you know once I've got it up and running.

It was on sale at Target for $29.95 but normally it runs $34.95-$39.99. Expansion packs are $19.99-$29.99.

It's like crack, man. James went home at lunch today because he forgot to take the CD with him to play in his downtime at work!

If you're willing to run other software, or wade through a ring of porn popups to search for the no-cd patch, you can play pirated versions found on bittorrent.

... I need a pirate icon.
