Hello flist! I have a small dilemna I'm hoping you all can help me with. James and I have a friend who is having a party for her uncle's 50th birthday on Saturday. She'd contracted a DJ to make CDs of a compilation of 50 songs for the event. The DJ called her last night and told her he didn't have time to do it. So, I'm trying to pull this together for her. (Well, James and I are.) So, it would save me immense amounts of time and hassle if any of you have some of the songs I'm looking for. I need them in .mp3 or .wma format, preferably. iTunes is not burn friendly.

Here's what I'm still looking for:

Rags to Riches - Buddy Rich
That's Life - Frank Sinatra
Havin' My Baby - Paul Anka
Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe - Barry White (I think James has this.)
Who Are You? - The Who  (I think James has this.)
You Can't Always Get What You Want - The Rolling Stones
Macho Man - The Village People
We Are Family - Sister Sledge
That's The Way I Like It - KC & the Sunshine Band
I Like It, I Love It - Tim McGraw
Brave - Jamie O'Neal
(I'd Like To Check You For) Ticks - Brad Paisley
Oye Como Va - Carlos Santana
Play that Funky Music (White Boy) - Wild Cherry
I Learned From You - Billy Ray & Miley Cyrus (any Hannah Montana fans out there?)
The Long Run - The Eagles
You Are the Sunshine of My Life - Stevie Wonder
Piano Man - Billy Joel

Philadelphia Freedom - Elton John
Do What You Want, Be What You Are - Hall & Oates
We've Only Just Begun - The Carpenters
Soul Man - Blues Brothers
Love Machine - The Miracles
Conga - Gloria Estefan
I Just Want to Celebrate - Rare Earth
Wipe Out - The Surfaris
Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
Shining Star - Earth, Wind & Fire
Bang the Drum All Day - Todd Rundgren
Golden Years - David Bowie
The Man In Love With You - Rascal Flatts
Beginnings - Chicago
Waiting on the World to Change - John Mayer (I have it in .mp4, but I need it in .mp3 or .wma)

I know, it's a tall order. Any help would be appreciated. You can either post a link to this post using yousendit or something similar, or you can email the files to me at kateinva at gmail dot com.

Many, many thanks!

I know Golden Years is on Best of Bowie 1974-1979 and Station to Station, although it may be on others, too. Lord knows he's got enough albums!

Thanks!

I have some of those songs, but I don't know how to switch them to wma format from itunes format which I have them on.

The man in love with you IS on a Cd that you have.
It is a bonus track, and it is after before Sara Beth.
They later came out with a CD that had them as two seperate other tracks, but the song before Sara Beth on the CD 'Feels Like Today'.
Sadly if you were to get it from the CD that I gave you, it would also add in Sara Beth, but that is a cute song too?

after before?
I meant to state it is BEFORE Sara Beth.
I am sorry, not feeling well today, nothing has came out right because of that fact.
*feels oogy*

I know itunes songs can be converted, but I think you've got to have a program to do it, so that's alright. I'll track 'em down. Or James will. We're both searching.

I'll check out my CD and see if they can be separated somehow. Thanks, love!

I have both versions of the Stones song. Do you want the single version or the long, seven-minute one?

*sigh* You just sent me a whole CD, and I have none of this. However, if you ever need anything released in the last year or so, I'm your girl.

That's ok, dear. It's not exactly your era. We're coming along ok. I think I'm down to 12 that I still need. Woo!

I have several of these, and would be only too happy to do it, if you tell me how.

I have itunes of doom.

Records were better. 45's? C'mon.

Records were worlds better. *sigh*

If you go into your My Music folder (assuming you have a PC and not a Mac), do you have the files there in .mp3 or .wma format? It depends on how you saved them to your computer, and if you downloaded them from iTunes. iTunes has a format that's more piracy-resistant. At any rate, if you have files in a workable format, you can either email them to me at kateinva at gmail dot com, or upload them to yousendit.com and forward me the link to download them (it will be provided at the site).

If all that is too much hassle, that's okay, too. I understand. We're down to only about 12 that we still need to find, so things are going better than I'd anticipated. Thanks!

I can get these to you tomorrow if you're still in need of them:

I Learned From You - Billy Ray & Miley Cyrus
Piano Man - Billy Joel
The Long Run - The Eagles
We've Only Just Begun - The Carpenters
Waiting on the World to Change - John Mayer
Golden Years - David Bowie

And possibly even the Rascal Flatts song. =)

Crap! I forgot to upload them - can I do it tomorrow, or will that be too late?

From: [identity profile] mugglechump.livejournal.com

That's ok. We've managed to track down all but about 5 of the songs. If you have the Rascal Flatts song, that would be helpful, but I think we've got the others covered.

Thanks!
