I am already tired of political commercials, and there is still a year to go before the next presidential election. The AARP commercials are playing everywhere, all the time. *bangs head* It's running neck and neck with the 'Truth' anti-smoking commercials (that are put out by tobacco companies) for Most Annoying Advertisement Ever.

Despite the irritating commercials, I'm really giggly tonight. It's a product of the D/Gness that is now officially going on in [livejournal.com profile] caliga_rpg. Naked Draco makes me happy. Taunty Ginny makes me happy. Whatever will I do when the fandom dies out? D/G forever!

There is the slightest chance that I'm just giggly because at this time last night it was midnight and I'm really tired. That sentence sounds like it doesn't make sense, but it really does.

Does anybody else watch Next Iron Chef? Who are you rooting for? I think Chef Simon will win, but I'm pulling for Chef Besh. Gotta love the southern boy.

Ok, the guy on Ace of Cakes is located in Baltimore, so I could totally order a cake from him. His cakes are incredibly cool. There are two problems with this. One - His cakes start at $500. I don't have any occasion that necessitates that kind of cake expense. I don't even think I spent that much for my wedding cake. Two - I hate fondant. To do the kinds of kick ass cake designs he does, you really need to use fondant. That is such a bummer.

Tomorrow is my busy accrual day at work. I have those every four weeks. I hope the subcontractors get their stuff to me on time. I'm not trying to be there all night.

*waves* Hiya Kate! Beth and I have been watching The Next Iron Chef from the beginning...I've been rooting for Besh...She's been rooting for Simon.
I too would love to order a cake from them but why would I spend over $500 on a cake when the money could go to something else for a party and I know people wo would be more than happy to do a duplicate. But he does some really cool cakes!
Have a good day at work....I hope that you get everything done quickly so you can be home early!

I can't believe it took me this long to respond to my comments! So sorry about that.

I love Chef Besh. If he would make me dinner (and join me - oddly I have a bit of a crush on him) and Duff would make me a cake, that would be heaven on Earth! You would be welcome to join us, of course!

You shut your mouth. Don't even talk that way.

That was a great scene, huh? Those two crack me up. Ginny's inner monologue is wonderful.

Sorry. Sometimes I speak without thinking.

Much like Draco and Ginny! I was rolling when Draco tried to give her his underwear! It's frustrating me that she's so reluctant to be his girlfriend, though. And seriously, they just need to do it already. The UST is hilarious, but all the other characters are getting it on and poor Draco and Ginny are so frustrated!

Duff uses the weirdest stuff in his cakes, doesn't he? I saw once that he was trying to make a life-sized German Shepherd cake, and he wound up having to use rice krispie treats to get it to maintain the right shape. And when they transport those massive cakes in the back of their van? You couldn't pay me to live through that kind of stress!!

He is an amazing baker and cake arteest. On a recent episode I saw them using some marshmallow thing rather than fondant. That sounds a bit more tempting!

And yes, transport is SO scary. In my car, those cakes would be covered in hair and fuzz faster than you can say frosting.

21st birthday cake for me?
I could always roadtrip to your house, and we could roadtrip to Baltimore and then get all fangirly around The Duff?

From: [identity profile] mugglechump.livejournal.com

You roadtrip here and I will do my best to get a Duffcake! (Or a reasonable facsimile from Costco?)

I think momma would be a tad bit pissed if her baby wasn't at home for her 21st.
