Okay, it's been forever since I've done a real update, so I'll try to catch up on the important moments in the last - what? - two months or so? *shrugs* A long time at any rate. My life is pretty routine anyway, so it won't take that long.
Mer turned 18. Shortly thereafter she had her first ever real fight with her dad. They're better now. His sister and her fiance are buying a townhouse and Mer's dad is going to rent the basement and she's going to go live with them in one of the spare bedrooms. Yep. You read that right. Mer's moving out and finishing school at a different high school. Yes, I'm okay with this plan. I'll miss her, but I think it will be good for her, good for her dad, and a little time on my own probably isn't bad for me either.
Back in May, Mer ran the Sebring into a median. One tire popped and the plastic guard under the front of the car broke off. I thought she might have dented the rim and I knew it would need an alignment. Figuring the expense of those things was less overall than the increase in my insurance premiums if I reported the accident, I just let the car sit until I had money to put into it. I've been driving the Buick instead, with no A/C because I couldn't afford to get it recharged.
Anyway, the day comes that I can finally get the Sebring fixed and wouldn't you know it, in addition to all the things I expected, the frame was damaged and the bumper and maybe the front quarter panel needed to be replaced. So, insurance was called and, lovely people that they are, they let me make the claim even though it was ~2 months after the fact. The check they sent me was for $2800. That's what was covered after my $250 deductible. Holy crap! It's all good now, though. I have the Sebring back and I even got the Buick serviced so it has fresh oil, a fresh fuel filter, AND A/C. Go me.
My boss quit at work and the guy filling in is annoyingly hands-on. Leave us alone and we'll just do our thing, dude.
In solidarity with Mal, I have gnats. Damn it. And Walmart really is out of fly paper. Bastards. Mer giggles at me as a run around trying to kill them with rolled magazines, my hands, and apple cider vinegar. Well, I don't run with the vinegar. I just leave it out. Damn bugs. Grr.
RPGs continue to rule my life. I now have NINE characters. Yeah. Nine. Playing for the Caliga team: Susan Bones, Romilda Vane, Samantha Fawcett, Miles Bletchley, and Bishop Rascaile. Playing for Si Muove: Susan Bones, Romilda (Vane) Wood, Emma Dobbs, and Reilly Chambers. I even have some plots. Oooooo. Look at my pretty plots. *pets them*
I have not forgotten that I owe drabbles. I haven't. They just aren't done yet. (As Elle works on her second round. Oy. I am a slacker.)
I have stuff to mail. I should do that.
There are funny niece stories to share, but I'm not feeling like doing that now.
Hope you are all well. *LOVES FLIST*

(And Harry is horrified that I'm using his journal for this... but he kinda likes Susan (and Romy, and Bishop... hasn't met the others yet) so he'll deal with it.

*hugs* I know I have a boy who is very interested in writing with at least two of your girls - well in truth, three - but he'd never flirt with Snape's assistant. He might end up poisoned or something. ;)
And YAY for Mer moving in with her dad! Will be a learning experience!

Yes! Thank God for insurance. Ugh. I don't know what I'd have done if they hadn't covered it.

Sorry about your boss, too.

Mer moving out... I really admire you for being so calm. Hope I can be as composed as you are. Coz as of now, if my kids wanted to move out I don't think I would be so calm. Yes, they are both under 3 now (LOL!) but still...

I'd be a lot more freaked out if she was moving on her own, but she'll be with her dad. I think she expects him to be just as lenient as he is when she visits. It's time for a reality check! Rob's already called me to discuss the rules she has here so he can be consistent with them. *snickers* Poor girl will be so disappointed.
And it would terrify ME if your little ones ventured out on their own. *giggles*

And we should play together soon! I miss you! I'm officially back from the week of houseguests this afternoon. Want to scene with any of my kids?

Yes, I'd love to play with your girls (or boy)! I'm on pretty much all the time, so just ping me when you're free. :D
