I went out this weekend and bought a new mattress pad. I didn't expect this to be a big deal, but my new mattress pad is so wonderful! It's all plushy micro-velour, and it gives just a little extra cushion on the bed. I took it home and washed it, put it on the bed along with fresh sheets, and I was happier than a pig in, well, you know. Is that totally lame? Cool, fresh sheets and a cozy bed = BLISS!
For Mother's Day, Meredith gave me a dozen pale yellow roses and James gaves me a box of chocolate and the Sims 2 'Open For Business' expansion pack. We ate out at Texas Roadhouse last night. Beefy goodness - mmmmmmmm.

Saturday, Meredith went to the WMZQfest with her dad, several of his friends, and her friend Becca. It's a big concert put on by one of the local country radio stations. She ran into a bunch of her friends there and so she bounced between her dad's group and different groups of friends all day. Fortunately, she was not hanging around with her friend Anastasia when Anastasia got arrested for possession of alcohol. *sigh* Robbie would have flipped his lid if Meredith had gotten involved in that. Anastasia seems to be at the center of a lot of trouble lately. I don't think Meredith will be hanging out with her for some time.
As always happens at those sorts of events, there were plenty of drunken guys roaming around. Meredith gave me the rundown of all the different people that hit on her. Some guy in his thirties commented on her rear end. A 22-year old was trying to chat her up, despite her pointed comments about her age. ("I'll be sixteen in June.") How much self-awareness does one need in order to realize that they are 'Creepy Old Guy'? Fortunately, Meredith hangs out with a lot of very protective male friends, who come to her rescue at the slightest sign of her distress. In this instance, her buddy (and occasional crush) Ryan stepped up to shoo the guy away. Yay, Ryan.
