Well, it's my last day in the McLean office. Today I get to haul all my junk down to the truck so I can plunk it in my new office tomorrow. It's not raining - we'll see if that lasts.
Money stuff
I need to get in the safe deposit box tomorrow and pull out the ring my grandmother left me. I've been holding onto it because it's fabulous, and it's unlikely I will ever be able to afford to buy one of similar size and value. However, I've finally decided that since I never wear jewelry, I have no occasion to wear jewelry like this ring, and it would be much more useful to get back on good financial footing than to have a nice ring in sitting in a bank, I'm going to sell it. I've sold some other pieces my grandmother left me through a jeweler I know who specializes in estate jewelry, and he's told me he could knew several people that would be interested in my ring. So, away it will go, and hopefully I will be able to do things like get my brakes fixed on my car, pay Meredith's travel soccer dues, and pay off my credit card. Maybe I can even replace my pants that are all frayed around the edges and decade old sneakers. Woo-hoo!
