Can I just say how much I love getting mail? Recently I have received a card from Pud, a card from Lys, and, most recently, Delaney sent me a postcard from Oxford! You guys make me smile and squee and I heart you very much! Keep an eye on your own mailboxes because I will be returning the favor shortly!

Truly, email, AIM, and LJ are great and very handy, but nothing induces happiness like opening the mailbox and finding personal correspondence.

ETA: God has sent me the first test of my new commitment to financial responsibility. A few months ago, James and I cancelled all our premium channels to save money. Now I learn that Jason Isaacs, the love of my life, has a new series on Showtime. Cruel fate, how you taunt me!

Yeah, men don't get it. It was only in the last year or two that I through out the note Todd Cohen wrote me in 9th grade. Correspondence is special.

Now see that's amazing!! I still have all of the letters that my best friend in 6th grade wrote to me when she moved from Asheville. I loved her so much and still do. When we would lose touch, I could always get her through her Grandparents in Enka which is outside of Asheville. Lynn is in Tennessee now, married and has 3 chickens!! Those pieces of mail are pure treasure to me! :D!

I can totally relate to that! When I had a postcard from Delaney and a card from Lys in my mailbox I was like: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I know! I'm being dramatic here, but having someone go through the trouble of sending actual mail is really quite an honor. In a day and age when you can communicate with the click of a button, getting something handwritten is very special.

I love mail too! I like sending it as much as getting it.

The mailbox is like a Christmas tree for everyday. Whether you're looking to see what's come for you, or waiting to hear what someone thought of what you sent them, it's always exciting.
