I left work yesterday, dropped Becky off at an appointment, and drove her car back to her house where I picked up my car. (Manny picked Becky up from the appt. - I didn't just ditch her.) Then I went shopping and bought quite a lot. 4 pairs of pants, 3 skirts, 3 shirts, a skort, 2 pairs of shorts, 6 pairs of undies, and new sneakers. Whew! Everything, except for 3 pairs of pants, was on sale. So, I still spent a lot of money - especially considering I was shopping for myself, which I almost never do - but I got pretty good deals on most of what I bought.

I got home about 8:00. James had gone straight to the gym from work, and hadn't gotten home yet. Meredith had left a note that she was at her boyfriend's watching movies. I went to feed the animals, only to find I had no water. Apparently I missed that bill. Crap. I hadn't seen a disconnection notice on the door, but eventually found it downstairs on top of the dirty laundry. Meredith had brought it in, but since the water was still running when Josh came to get her, so she didn't bother to call and tell me so I could get over to the town building before they closed. All the local hotels were booked. So, yeah, we spent last night with no water. I went to the grocery and bought bottled water, baby wipes, and hand sanitizer so we could brush our teach and clean up a little. This morning James and I went up to the gym he belongs to and used the showers there. I stopped by the town building and paid the water bill, so things should be fine now. Gah, that sucked. I really need to get organized.

After running that errand, I went to the dentist for my two crowns. The novacaine is wearing off, and I'm feeling a little bit of pain, so I'll have to take some ibuprofen shortly. I've had enough fun for one day. Can I go home now?

We're doing the whole no water thing right now. They shut us off because they're fixing something. But for a while we had no hot water. That was an experience, 5 days of cold showers, yes, the temps here are unbearable, but still! It was cold!

I hate when the novacaine wears off *hugs to make you feel better*

Thanks! I needed that!

I have this School House Rock icon, too. *points* I got them from [livejournal.com profile] peaces_icons

Our water got turned off for like three days once...I took showers at friends' houses. No fun at all, I feel your pain.

Yay for shopping! You gotta love getting new clothes!

Sorry about the dentist. I hate novocaine so much.

*hugs*

PS. Is this your icon? *points* I can't remember where I took it from...

It's hard to say. Delaney and I have both made icons from that picture. No worries, though. I'm not really terribly concerned about credit. You may want to note in your comment line that the artwork came from [livejournal.com profile] twinkly. She did all the hard work - I just cropped it. (Assuming I did that one.)

Yeah, going without water just sucks. Thank goodness the folks at the gym too pity on me - I don't even have a membership there.

*hugs*

BABY! :O! Next time don't wait for it to wear off...go ahead and take the Motrin when you leave the office or even when you go in. Then if you take it again regularly for the evening you should have NO PAIN! (like...every 4 to 6 hours?) *huggles for that*

New goods!! wheeeee :)

YES! Go home! *nodding*

I should have taken it right after I left the dentist's office, but I just didn't think about it. I think I'm going to have to suffer through a few more hours at the office. *sigh* I'm planning to sneak out as early as possible, though.

YAY for new clothes. My old shoes were probably 10 years old, and literally had several pieces missing from the sole. I tend to use things until they fall apart, both for frugality and because I hate shopping for myself. I could shop all day for Mer, she's like my own personal life-size Barbie. *grins*
