Today someone sent me a private message on the MNFF forums. She (presumably) has apparently been following a lot of the debate threads I post in and she wanted to tell me how much she appreciates my point of view. She said a lot of very nice things and I swear I must have blushed for 15 minutes straight after reading her message. I was blown away. It meant a lot to me for several reasons. Firstly, it's so rare that people go out of their way to say kind things. Secondly, my views tend to be in the minority over at MNFF. Most of the folks over there are young and idealisticly liberal. I'm used to playing the foil. Thirdly, it's very humbling to think that someone has such high regard for my opinion. Fourthly, in 'real life' I tend to be a very forgetable person. I just don't make a big impression on people most of the time so it's kind of nice to have proof that I'm not invisible.
In other good news, I've decided that I don't dislike my new job. I've been here for a couple months now and it's been pretty good all around. That's a major improvement from that last office I was working in. The commute sucks but they may let me move to another building closer to home in a few months.
My only real disappointment today was that Cassie didn't put out Chapter 17 of DV like she'd planned. It'll probably come out tomorrow while I'm at work. I'll have to close my office door and pretend to be working very diligently on something so I can read it.

I shared your woe, my fellow fan. In fact, my friend told me in no absolute terms to stop whinging because I'm even a worst updater than most.
Ah well. F5 key was my best friend. ;)
