Yesterday was an incredibly great mail day! I got a card from my dear, wonderful Lys! AND Urs the Magnificent sent me Halloween candy! I've said it before, and I'll say it again - My friends are awesome. Thank you, chickies! I felt very loved yesterday.
Over the weekend I took Jinx, one of my cat kitties, to the vet. For a little over a week now he's been walking awkwardly, and his hindquarter balance has been off. He didn't seem to be in any pain when I felt around his hips and legs, and it hasn't slowed him down really. He's just not been as graceful as he used to be. The vet said it was a neurological problem; his brain can't tell where his back legs are. I forget the exact term he used. There are a number of things that can cause this, but it's difficult to figure out what the problem is and as often as not there isn't a specific cause. The vet said that sometimes it degenerates further and sometimes it doesn't. At the moment, Jinx is on antibiotics in case it's caused by an infection. He's having some bloodwork done to see if that tells us anything. We go back next Saturday for a follow-up. He may not get better, and so long as he's able to get around without pain or too much difficulty I'm ok with that. I do hope he doesn't get worse, though. I would miss my (not so) little black kitty if I had to say goodbye.
Meredith was out with some friends last night, including a boy named Ryan who she's known since she was eleven or twelve. They go through cycles where they talk a lot, or one will like that other but one or both of them is already dating someone. Ryan goes to a different school, so they don't get to see each other very often. I jokingly refer to Ryan as the love of Meredith's life because they inevitably come back to each other in some way, even if they never manage to actually date each other. So anyway, they were hanging out with several other friends and Ryan apparently said he wanted to go back to our house. Mer asked him why, and he said, "So I can see your mom!" They came over and Mer calls up to me as she's walking across the parking lot, "Mom, come down here. There's someone who wants to see you!" I head downstairs and Ryan sprints up, getting odd looks from his friends, and gives me hug, telling his bewildered friends that I am very cool. *beams* I <3 Ryan. He's so cute. I'll have to post the picture of last year's homecoming - he and Mer double dated, she went with his best friend - who I can't stand.

I hope Kitty-fluff gets better. Tell Mer to stop growing up! HA!

I'm not sure I'd want Mer to stop growing at this stage. She's past that age where she was cute and sweet all the time, so now I'd just like her to get to the mature and responsible part. *sigh*

Yay for mail! *does the yay mail dance* I hope your kitty gets better. I hate having sick pets. =( Ryan seems adorable. *grins* We'll just push Mer in that direction, shall we? Hehe.
*hugs*

*does the yay mail dance with you*
Ryan is a cutie. I'll wait until they are older to push too hard in that direction, though. Mer has mentioned in the past that Ryan is a bit of a 'manwhore'. I'm not sure if she means actually physically whorish, or just that he runs through girlfriends really quickly.

Mere needs to latch onto this boy pronto. Tell her I said so, I have experience with these things. So far, they work out splendidly!

*giggle* My guy friends tell me they hang around me because of my family and my mom. *laugh* Mom always hated Andrew though-- I never knew why. I of course know now. Because he is a jackass. Moms are pretty good with reading people. I would hug you in front of all my friends too silly butt! ♥
