Meredith came to me on Saturday to tell me that she needs a physical in order to try out for cheerleading TODAY. o.O So, I stayed home today to try to get her an appointment somewhere and also because I really just need some alone time. I'm almost never home by myself - James and/or Mer are always here. It's been driving me a little crazy lately. My doctor's office is booked, so I have to take her to an Urgent Care place, which will cost quite a bit more than my $10 co-pay at the regular doctor. But that's not the worst of it.
Meredith came upstairs after her shower to show me a rash on her shoulders and back. It could be poison ivy or something innocuous like that, but it looked an awful lot like chicken pox. She had chicken pox as a baby, but it was a pretty mild case, so it's entirely possible that she could get it again. Which would, of course, mean she'd miss try-outs, and several days of school, and I would have to quit carpooling with Becky for fear of passing something on to her while she's still in her first trimester of pregnancy. I'm not sure if I even could pass chicken pox on to her, but that's just not a risk I'm willing to take, you know?
And, on a more selfish & whiny note, it would mean that my alone time for today just got screwed.
Damnit.

I'm getting along alright, I suppose. I'm spending WAY too much time playing Sims 2 and not nearly enough writing my stories or doing housework.
How about you? Anything new and exciting down in Gilmer?
*hugs*

The Plan:
Gina: okay, new plan
Gina: we need to kidnap Kate and take her on a much needed vacation
Gina: so that way we get to go on vacation too
Emmie: oh true.
Gina: i am so smart sometimes
Gina: it's scary
Emmie: The geniusness.
Gina: i came up with the idea
Gina: now you must think of a foolproof plan
Emmie: We roadtrip, ring the doorbell, and cover her head with with a burlap sack.
Emmie: then take it off around 5 minutes later, with the doors locked on the vehicle and yell SURPISE! and hand out icecream.
We are amazing. Oh, and prayers for Mer, I had the pox twice and they sucked muchly!

I'm sorry about your friend. That's a terrible thing to come home to. I know you're feeling guilty, but there was nothing you could have done. *snuggles tight* I'm praying for you, and your friend's family.

I managed to get a little time for myself in today. Not as much as I'd've liked, but I'll take what I can get!
