So, I have work to do. I have cleaning to do. I have bills to pay. I have due-in-less-than-a-week fic to write and get betaed. (Who's available for last minute betaing on Friday-or-possibly-early-Saturday? Anyone? Anyone? *puppy eyes*) What am I doing? I'm poking around online. What did I do yesterday? Why I played on the computer, of course! Maybe if I ignore all these things, they will go away. Maybe? Maybe not. *cough*

My mom is making pork roast for Thanksgiving. Pork roast. This is my disappointed face. :(

A happy note, Becky brought me beef & barley stew for lunch! YUM! I haven't had that in so long!

Have I mentioned before that what they pass off as coffee in my office has to be mud in disguise? Seriously, I must have dumped a quarter cup of powdered creamer into my little styrofoam cup and it's still saddle-tan brown. Blech. And yet I still drink it because I can't get out of the house early enough to make a Starbucks run in the morning - which is probably a good thing for my bank account.

Meredith went with her dad to watch the Cowboys game yesterday (they are rabid Cowboys fans), and then they went out to eat. He brought her home around ten last night, which was fine, but without warning me he also brought over his new girlfriend to meet me. Luckily I was not in my pajamas, but I hadn't showered, the house was a mess, I had to talk to Meredith about a call I got from her history teacher, and James was being sort of rude under the guise of joking around. She seems like a nice enough woman, but I doubt I could have come across worse if I tried.

So, I'm not the only one. Fic due on Nov 30 (it was on Oct 30 but deadline was changed) and I'm stuck on 3rd chapter. It grew rather dangerously. I tried to write something at work... *sighs* I am lame, I am.

Hee. I've written *one page*. That's it. *headdesk* Procrastination is a terrible, terrible thing.

Oooh baby, I like pork roast...can I come? :D I'm not cooking a turkey either. I'm doing a hen for the house. We're all getting together at Rob's mom's house so there will be turkey there. I usually don't eat the meat anyway. All of the veggies and other goodies...THE BREAD! satisfy me just fine! ;) But pork roast...YUM!!

Well...you weren't coming across bad on purpose...there were quite a few things going on there...

Is history going OK for Mer?

You would be very welcome at the pork roast feast. It's not that I don't like pork roast I just look forward to the turkey, but Mom's not fond of it. I'll suffer since I'm not doing the cooking. Maybe I'll sneak off to Richard and Tracey's in the evening and eat some turkey there.

History is always a challenge for Mer, and she doesn't get on very well with her teacher. We're in for a long year.

*hugs*

You know I hate that. Why the hell is there an issue about "getting along" with the children?? ( :O! I said CHILDREN! :O!) You're a TEACHER, damnit! This is your job! If you cannot get along and deal with all of the children, then WHAT?? Now I know all personalities don't always click, but this is school for goodness sake! Her education! Has she/he even reached out to Mer or even tried? Or have they just formed an opinion about her and have just given up?? I guess I went off there a little bit, but because I do work pretty close with them, I know how they can be. I also know how they are SUPPOSED to be. *grrr* Tell her to hang in there...I hated History and you just might have to go "place a foot", Momma.

*huggles both of you* ♥

I'll probably be sitting around my apartment on Friday night with nothing to do, if you need a beta. I have to work Saturday at 11am, so I don't know if I'll be awake too long before that.

Don't worry about the girlfriend, you don't have to impress her. Besides the first one rarely lasts long ;)

From: [identity profile] mugglechump.livejournal.com

Oh, this isn't Rob's first. Rob and I split when Mer was about two. He's run into issues in dating, though, because women are so catty. They have a hard time accepting that Rob and I are friends and understanding that I have no interest in being 'with' him. *shudders* Been there, done that, got the child.

I just hate looking like a complete pid when I meet people. A little warning would be nice. Oh well.

A lot of women do have that trust issue where their men can't have female friends *shakes head*

If Lyndsie can't do it, I'll be available. But look! People from the forums! Commented on this entry! I should meet them.

Anyway *dies laughing* I want to be an ostrich, too. And I've tasted coffee like that... gross.

We can be ostriches together! Close your mouth tightly, though, lest you eat sand.

Oh yes! Forum people. You should meet them. And the other folks, too, just because they are cool. Starting from the top, may I present:

Ayla
Joanna
Urs
Lyndsie
Jen
(you, obviously)
Emmmie
Gina

Everyone - this is Delaney. She's awesome.

Well I guess I would need to greet you HERE, huh??

Oh! (Hee, I see it now...)

Anyway. Hi. Demandingness is comforting. It leaves out chances for ambiguity, right? Right. Hooray.

Pork Roast? But...turkey day!

I'll Beta if needed. Although I must admit I kind of get wrapped up in the story and forget to look for stuff. I blame the pretteh writing.

From: [identity profile] mugglechump.livejournal.com

I know! I'll have to sneak off to my BILs and eat their turkey after I leave Mom's.

Thank you for the offer! I'll see which of you folks I can wrangle up when I get the story finished. I do that same thing when betaing, which I don't do often anyway. Stories are for reading!
