amazonmink's example and posting a picture of my Christmas tree. This is my first year using an artificial tree. It bugs me, but I'm a bit strapped this season and my mom gave this to me a few years back, so it was called into action. Anyhoo, I don't do tinsel because my cats eat it, so my tree is just colored lights and an eclectic collection of ornaments. (And yes, Carrie, that is a gourd ornament. Hee.) And, for those of you wondering at the wisdom of having my tree right in front of my fireplace, my fireplace is decorative only. Not because it doesn't work, it works very well. Unfortunately, my fire alarm is uber sensitive and goes off about a minute after I turn the fire on.
