I have absolutely nothing interesting to say, really. I'm at work, being a slacker until the audit meeting at 2:00. Must print out cheat notes so I will know what I'm talking about... Thank God I don't have to deal with this program any more after today! Hooray!

I brought in a new picture of my daughter to put on my bulletin board today. It's Mer decked out in her fake Uggs, jeans, pink sweater and pink hat. I photoshopped it onto a green slime background and now she's Meredith the Psychedelic 70's Pimp. I think it looks cool. She likes it, too, but could not help rolling her eyes at my Photoshop geekiness. I'll put it up here if I can figure out how to do cuts. Someday, someone else may actually visit my LJ. Or not. Either way, I'm having fun. XP

I must remember to mail the package I've put together for MB. Tomorrow I WILL go to the post office. The baby is due in less than three weeks, it would be nice if the stuff I'm sending arrived before she does. I had the best time buying baby stuff. Wish I could have had another.... I miss having a baby. The way they nuzzle against your neck with their downy soft hair... Babies are teh love. *sniff* My baby is taller than me (not that that's hard - I'm only 5'1".) and is old enough to have her learner's permit. Ok, enough of the nostalgic tangent.

My nephew is turning 2 this weekend. Happy Birthday Maiken!!!! Maiken is awesome. He's a happy, rough-and-tumble type kid. He is pretty stubborn, though. He knows that my camera has a display and so whenever I take his picture he follows me around saying, "I see. I see. I see." Even if I show him the picture he still comes after me. His older siblings understand that they've already seen the picture and move on. Maiken, of course, has not yet reached that level of awareness.

Well, I'm off to print crap out for my meeting. Fun fun fun!

I've spent a considerable amount of time over the last week or so in meetings, training and on conference calls. It is official. I am bored. Real work would be a welcome change. *sigh*

On Saturday Meredith and I went to Shelby's funeral. It was, of course, a very sad affair but it was very moving to hear the friends and family that spoke about Shelby. Her step-sister in particular was eloquent and showcased the spirit that Shelby had. I came away feeling that, while it is certainly tragic that her life was so short, Shelby had a very good life. She made the most of her life while she was here. She loved and was loved by many, many people. I found that comforting.

James got a notice that he had an outstanding parking ticket and got very angry. Initially he thought they had just entered the ticket incorrectly because he had a receipt from when he paid it and the ticket number listed was one number off from the notice he received. As it turns out, he actually was issued two tickets at the same time but he only had one on his car when he got back to it that day. The perplexing thing is that one ticket is for an expired meter and the other is for parking in an improper location. If he had a meter, doesn't that indicate that it was in fact a legitimate parking space? He argued with the clerk about this for awhile but the most they would do is remove the late fees.

I have not been very inspired to write lately. I have the next chapter of Anniversary outlined but I can't seem to get it typed up. I have several other WIPs that I need to work on too. Lately I just haven't felt like it.

I have played with Photoshop a lot lately. I don't have the professional Photoshop, just PS Elements 4.0, but given my skill level that is sufficient for now. My latest creations have been for Meredith. I've made a couple of photos of her with Jeremy Sumpter. She has a huge crush on him. If you aren't familiar with him, Jeremy Sumpter played Peter Pan in the 2003 version with Jason Isaacs as Capt. Hook/Mr. Darling. He's a cute kid.
