So, that was too easy. I think John and Simon just moved Simon's car and turned off all but the sitting room lights so that Ginny and Ron would think Draco was alone. I don't know if they moved Draco, or if they just ambushed Ron, or what, but I do not think things are as in control as Ginny believes.

Also, Ginny didn't tell them about Narcissa! *bangs head* She seems to keep forgetting that his mother is dying and every second she farts around is one more second he doesn't get to spend with her before she dies! Ginny! You frustrate me!

I was kind of glad Simon got angry with Ginny. It's nice to know how far he can be pushed.

“Want ta go over your shortcomings an faults next, then?”

And yet he's still witty. *loves Simon*

"...an here we are eight years later tryin desperately ta get our woman o fire to do her soddin job.”

Yeah, I love him.

Now the wait begins for the NEXT chapter. *is impatient*

ETA: While putting together a lyric meme (in honor of a certain friend's birthday), it occurred to me that I have A LOT of British music. It makes up a significant portion of my music library. Not just older bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and The Clash, but quite a bit of new stuff, too. Interesting.

I seriously do not understand why Ginny just keeps ignoring Narcissa. Draco would care, but she just sat around and was selfish for six weeks. *grumbles*

John was great in this chapter, too. Yay for them.

And also, they wouldn't ambush Ron or obstruct him, I don't think. I mean, even if they did, the warrant would still be hanging over Draco. Plus... John was all for going home, even, and letting everything happen.

Yes, Ginny's consistant ignoring of the Narcissa situation is frustrating and dangerous, if she wants Draco to forgive her. Can you imagine explaining that Oops! you could have met your mother, but I dillydallied around for my own amusement and she died before I got around to mentioning her to you.

John is quite level-headed. I like that about him.

I don't know exactly what purpose they'd have in moving Draco or disturbing Ron's capture, other than to shield Draco from the reality of the situation. I just feel like it was too simple. There was no fuss, and even Heartbroken!Ben/Draco would react to being arrested by a man with so many similarities to Ginny, I think. Also, the fact that Ginny didn't watch Ron go into the house and didn't witness the capture makes me think something is up. It might not be John and Simon at all. Maybe Ron suddenly had compassion, maybe Draco did something inadvertantly. I just feel like something is off.

You can't not love Simon :) He seems to know just what to say and how to deliver it for maximum effect every time.

Ginny does seem a little forgetful about the poor dying woman waiting for her son to come home. Why isn't she treating this as a priority?

Until you mentioned it, I was all for believing that the arrest went smoothly, but it did seem a little too smooth to be true. Draco may be in a depressive state, but he'd have to react if a stranger (Ron) turned up and arrested him, wouldn't he?

Draco is going to be pretty darn pissed off if Ginny's swanning around means his mother dies before he can reunite with her.

I do feel like something is off about Draco's capture. A lot of it stems from Ginny not being there to witness it. She didn't watch Ron enter the house. She didn't see the arrest occur. Maybe it did go just as planned, but combining Ginny's lack of visual proof of the arrest with the fact that John and Simon asked for some time with Draco before it went down makes me think something else was afoot.

I can't imagine he'll be happy that he's missed so much precious time with his mother.

I'm back to wibbling about the arrest again *sigh* As Pud said, Ron could have stunned him or something and that's why it went so smoothly. The lack of visual evidence and the fact that the boys wanted some time isn't sitting well with me either.

This is probably one of those times when I'm absolutely convinced about something that is completely off base. *sigh* It still feels off to me. I don't know exactly what I think happened, but I'm having a hard time swallowing it going down without a hitch. Other things I'm considering are:

- John & Simon sent word to the Malfoys
- Ron felt pity for Draco and took matters into his own hands(not sure where this would lead, but it's possible)
- Draco performed magic inadvertantly

I don't know. It's bother me until the next chapter comes out.

I've got another to add to the list purely from the point of view of a writer:

- John and Simon don't know that Narcissa is dying, so taking off and hiding Draco would up the level of drama and angst as the Ministry raced against the clock to locate him.

Of course, you know she's probably going to do something completely different and all our theories will be blown to bits ;)

And yet we'll still be thrilled. *sigh* This story really has me in its clutches!

Oh yes, we'll just start trying to figure out the next chapter! We're such an adaptable bunch of addicts ;)

Lyndsie just came up with the most probable explanation yet! John and Simon cleared out of the house, leaving Draco completely alone for the first time since the break-up. What if Ron went in and found Draco had harmed himself and needed to get him to Mungo's right away to save him?

Oh God, I'm totally freaked out now.

From: [identity profile] dragonsangel68.livejournal.com

Oh god, don't even go there! Besides John and Simon hid all the sharps and meds *nods*

Ginny doesn't like to think of the unpleasantness that is Narcissa's impending end. Because that just one more thing that makes her feel guilty. She has kept Draco away from his mother for six weeks. SIX WEEKS.

Simon is completely brill. I adore him.

Yes, Ginny's going to have some serious answering to do when Draco realizes she's kept him from his dying mother. It's not as though he can ever get that time back. Whatever her reasons, Ginny is wrong to have kept this from him.
