I got mail from Gina! The Bean wrote me the greatest haiku ever. *loves my GB*

This week has been so stressing. It's made me very bitchy. Poor Mer has had me on her case for DAYS. Rawr! Hiss! Spit!

I has everyone (of age) read HumbugGirl's Sub-Rosa one-shot series? The first one is Positions of Power. The second is The Secret Keeper. And, the third is The Gift Giver. God I love kink. If you like D/G smut, check her out. Seriously. (ETA: I've realized that there are two additional installments on her LJ! [livejournal.com profile] humbuggirl)

Tomorrow I'm going to the grocery store and buying stuff so I can make Frontier Chowder. Becky called me last weekend to ask me something about the recipe and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. I wanted to make it tonight, but Mer needed the car to meet her dad for dinner. *pouts* Tomorrow! Frontier Chowder! Yum! I can't find my recipe, but here's the gist of it:

Updated!
Ground turkey, browned
1 can condensed Bean with Bacon soup
1 can water
1 can Bean with Ham soup
1 can corn
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can tomato soup (condensed)
Fry some bacon and crumble it over the top.

I have no idea why it's called Frontier Chowder, as it doesn't seem particularly frontier-like, nor especially chowder-y. It's good comfort food, though, and easy as can be.

I should also make chili and beef barley stew soon. And maybe some chicken soup with rice (Sipping once, sipping twice, sipping chicken soup with rice! Maurice Sendak owns my soul.) Thank God for cold weather. I love soups and stews! Oh, and I have a pot roast in the freezer... *sigh*

YAY YOU GOT MY MAIL!

Best part about winter is the food, y/y? I can not WAIT for Chili from my momma.

I'll have you know that I worked long and hard on that haiku. Seriously. I suck at syllables apparently because I screwed up 4 times before I got it right. *is a nerd*

We could always tie Mer to her bed for a week? Give you a break? *pets the irritated Katie-bugs*

Re: YAY YOU GOT MY MAIL!

Winter is basically synonymous with food. All the holidays involve copious amounts of yumminess; it's the time for heavy comfort food. *sigh* I do love the cool months.

I LOVE my haiku. Meow. I thought about posting it, but I kind of like keeping it for myself. *snuggles*

Unfortunately, Mer's bed is a mattress on the floor. Not much to tie her to. I would happily ship her to her dad's for a week, though. Stupid school.

YAY for the food post! You're making me hungry, but it's almost lunchtime so it's getting me in the mood. I'm thinking fried rice with peas, corn, carrots and ham. But it's kinda boring when compared to your planned meals! I've never had chowder, but your frontier chowder sounds yummy!

I think we might be having your chicken soup & rice for dinner tonight: we call it chicken porridge, though. Mum cooks it when she has too much leftovers from chicken rice. We cook it so the rice starts falling apart and it's yummy. ^_^ Mmm... food. Hope the weekend's a good rest for you!

I don't know if I've ever had fried rice with ham. That sounds pretty good. Food is the greatest thing ever.

Kate, did you really think I could resist a smut rec from you, and a D/G one at that? No, of course not. So I read the stories, and they were wonderful as promised. But.. poor bruised Ginny. It may be hard to sit down for a while. >> I can't wait for the next installment!

No, I didn't expect you to not read them. I just figured that they are NC-17, and you are 17, so it's all good. :D Yes, poor Ginny. I can't imagine being sore all the time. @.@

I've discovered that there are two more installments on her LJ. [livejournal.com profile] humbuggirl Woo!
