... is at work with me today. She says 'hi'. In a liitle while we're leaving to pick up the screens for the old house, go to the gastroenterologist, meet with James so I can sign the Explorer over to him, and have dinner with my mom and brothers. Until then, Mer is reminding me periodically that my office is not an exciting place to be. You know, in case I forget.
My lease in P'Ville is over. My stuff is out of the house, which is now pretty clean. (I didn't do the oven - sue me.) My new place looks more large a storage unit than an apartment, but I'm living there, Mer's there, and the cats are there.
Thank God.
Phone and computer still not unpacked, along with pretty much everything else I own. People at work will start wondering if I own another pair of pants soon. It's still a work in progress, but at least that progress can be confined to Manassas now.
Again, thank God.
I'm very tired. And rather stiff and sore.

I am officially moved, but still have LOTS to do at the old house. Spent last night on my new sofa because I was too tired to fuss with getting the bed put together. Thankfully I've had loads of help from James, Mer's dad, and my BIL and his family. They've been a godsend. My computer has not made the move yet; nor have my phones except the cellular. Right now I'm pretty much sweaty and tired, having dinner at BIL's place shortly and then will walk across the common area 'home'.
I see that everyone and their aunt posted this weekend, I'll catch up as I can.

Today is the day that my entire office moves from one building into another. We were supposed to be able to work until 2:00, which most of us really needed in order to get our work even remotely close to done. However, at about 11:15 word came down that we needed to expedite our absence from the building. i.e. Get out now or very, very soon. Now would be preferable. So, after ensuring that everything in my office was packed up and labeled, and helping to ensure that the common areas of our suite were completely packed, I left. That was probably around noon. So, hurrah for a short day, but boo because we are required to make up our time. So, yeah, mega boo for that. It seems to me that if I don't have an office to work in, and the server is down for the move, I should be able to just charge to overhead for the time I HAVE to miss. Unfortunately, the higher-ups don't think that way. Bunch of boo-boo heads.

On my way home I stopped and got lunch, then went to Borders and spent too much money. I got one book for Meredith and seven for me. That seemed fair. Two of my books were free, so woot for that.
Now I am home, trying to convince myself to ignore the lure of the internet, my new books, and Sims 2, and instead work on writing fic. What a novel idea. Can I pull it off? Time will tell, but so far (seeing as I'm on LJ) it's not looking good.
I've exchanged LJ and facebook comments with Lys, which is about as close as I can get to chatting with her for the time being. She has mailed me a letter. These things make me happy.
Note to Gina: I miss you, dear. I hope things are okay, and that you come back soon! How am I supposed to hold Crazy Bitch meetings without my co-founder?
Oh! I was talking with Meredith last night about what made her decide to break up with the boy I didn't like. Apparently this BF told Meredith that he wanted to have a baby with her - now. Mer was very much like, "WTF, dude? You're nuts!" As was I. Hopefully the saga of the freakishly stupid boyfriend is now over.
I wonder if there are any Cheez-Its left...
