Never mind on that whole 'friends only' thing. I'm not concerned with people seeing what I write. Really personal stuff will still probably get the lock, but in general, if you want to pay attention to me rambling on about random crap, have at it.
By the way, my dragon's going to die in 17 hours if I don't get him grown up. If you have a sec, would you click the baby? Thanks! All grown up!

Hey there, flisters! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Hurray for Jesus and His grace! Congratulations to
elle_blessing on her baptism, too.
I'm about to head to bed, but here are some random thoughts in no particular order.
- I miss Robert Irvine. I don't care that he lied about his resume, he should be doing Dinner Impossible. My crush on him only has a little to do with this.
- I really need to go get my jaw fixed. I have TMJ. It was really bad on the left side and I had that operated on about 15 years ago. Now the right side has gotten to the point that it's becoming a nuisance and giving me headaches.
- I'm debating giving up my friends only status. I did it hastily, and frankly, most of what I say here is no big secret. I would still lock really personal things, but I wonder sometimes if the overall exclusivity is really protecting me from anything or if it just makes my non-fans assume I'm talking smack behind a wall. Do I care? Am I being paranoid and arrogant? These are the questions. It's just livejournal, after all, and I doubt I'm such a fascinating person that anyone really spends time pondering the reasons I feel the need to 'hide'. I'm rambling. Let's move on.
- Things are happening for Romy (one of my rpg characters) that make me very happy. It's taken forever to get to this point, and I think she's earned a little happiness. :D
- You can pre-order Season One of Sons of Anarchy on Amazon now. There's no release date listed, though, so I'm hesitant to do so. It is a decent price, though. Mmmm. Jax Teller.
- I really like corned beef with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. Good stuff.
- When I make the effort, I'm pretty damned good at my job.
I need sleep. Night, everyone!

I was tagged by
autumnrhythm30 to do this on Sylar.

1. Do you like this character?
'Like' is probably not the right word. I want to hug him and make him better.
2. What name/s do you call this character?
Sylar when he's being evil. Gabriel when I think he's a misunderstood woobie.
3. What image-color do you associate with this character?
Black.
4. What image-song do you associate with this character?
*blink* Um... The only thing I associate with Sylar, really, is Elle (Kristen Bell). I don't have a song for him.
5. What blood-type do you think this character is?
Seriously? O+? I have no idea.
6. Of all of the titles to that this character appears in, what character do you like to put this character with?
Gabriel & Elle!
7. What would you want to say to this character?
If I had the guts to stick around long enough to say anything, I'd probably try to convince him he didn't have to be evil.
8. Which do you want to do with this character: Shake hands, hug, or kiss?
If my safety was guaranteed, I'd hug him. Then maybe kiss him.
9. Please choose 6 friends with your choice of character.
I don't tag, but if you comment that you want to play, I'll give you a character. :D

God is very timely with messages we need to hear. This is Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. He's in the middle of a series on trial. This sermon is about suffering to bless. It was what I needed to hear, for myself and to gain perspective on others. It's about an hour long, but worth a viewing.
(And many thanks to Elle for introducing me to Mars Hill. It's been good for me.)

So, I've been friended by a couple Russian journals recently. This morning I scrolled through some entries in
fupeni's journal, just looking for a hint as to why this particular Russian decided to friend me. I stopped short when I saw one of the gickr icons I'd made of my Caliga characters in a post from 1/18/09. Here's a screencap, the entry is locked so you can't see it unless this weird Russian journal has you friended, too.

Snippets from the introduction of The Radical Reformission that make me laugh and give insight into why I'm so enamored of Pastor Mark Driscoll. He's so relatable.
"Growing up, I thought that as long as I believed in a nebulous Sky Fairy named God and was a decent, moral person outperforming those below me on the ethical food chain, I would end my life hearing the old theme song from The Jeffersons television show and be "movin' on up" to heaven with all the other good guys."
Kate's note: That first passage pretty much describes my early belief system to a 'T'. I never thought much about The Jeffersons theme song being involved, but it wouldn't have surprised me a bit.
"After a bad few weeks of a frat experience that landed me in the freshman equivalent of purgatory - a dorm - I sat down to read the Gospels. Frankly, they seemed boring because they kept saying the same thing. I wondered if the Bible wasn't written by an old man with dementia, or by a young man who had gone to my "publick skewl." As I continued to read, Jesus seemed okay, but the guys I really liked - because of their self-control and strength - were the denominational leaders of that day: the Pharisees. They were about the only guys in the cast of characters with any guts. I identified with them and was convinced they were the good guys in the story ... until they killed Jesus. I wasn't much of a theologian at the time, but murdering Jesus did seem like a bad move."
"We finally settled into a large suburban church where I felt at home because it met my criteria. First, the pastor (who looked like Mr. T) had been an NFL linebacker and knew how to kill people in self-defense. Second, he taught the Bible verse by verse in a real way, one that enabled me to have a relationship with Jesus that did not feel like he was my lifelong prom date."
Yeah, I like him. :D

Sometimes I look around and wonder how things changed. Other times I wonder if they haven't actually changed and in reality I just missed something critical in my original evaluation. Maybe it's both? Whatever it is, it makes me sad. I'm tired of being sad.

It's come to my attention that someone is still, or possibly is again, posting negative crap about Si Muove on an anonymous journal. I'm not writing at SM anymore, but if the person doing this happens to be on my flist, knock it off already. It's boring, tired, infantile, and cowardly. It also casts me and other people who've left the rp into suspicion, which I don't appreciate. I make a point not to discuss the reasons I left SM with people who were not involved and I don't need the potential of drama coming my way just because someone feels the need to be a jackass.
I'm disabling comments because the only person who needs to be concerned with this post is the person making the rude journal entries. If that's not you, no worries.

1. Sons of Anarchy is love. I've seen three episodes so far (the last three from season one - yeah poor planning on my part) and I've just downloaded episode 1 so I can start from the beginning. I won't deny that Charlie Hunnam (aka
pinksheep_wench's Blake Dunstan) has a little something to do with it, but the show really is good. It was created by one of the writers/producers from The Shield, which I also love.
2. Today's quote: Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Marcel Proust
I'm grateful for you all. Thanks for cultivating me.

Hello, wonderfully indulgent friends of mine. Would you mind clicking on my little black hatchling? He has less than two days to grow up and is being stubborn. Thank you very much.

In other news - I've had a headache all evening. Probably because I've been busy and not getting enough rest. Proving that I'm an idiot, I am still not in bed, despite having a meeting in just about seven and a half hours. Tomorrow will be another long day, I think, but then I can recharge over the weekend. I need it like whoa.
I've been introduced to Twitter and have a great time sending random messages of 140 characters or less and receiving the same from my Twitter buddies. One of the best parts? Speaking in cheezburger and driving Elle's Matt batty. Poor Matt. I can haz new friend, tho. Yay.
On the political front, Larry the Cable Guy said it best. "We swore him in almost two months ago and we ain't stopped swearing since." I am so incredibly horrified by the spending frenzy, I can't even tell you. This guy's wasted no time getting the far left agenda started. For the first time in my life, I'm really worried about what will happen to my country - and I lived through the Carter years! Our current leaders seem to have no respect for capitalism or the Constitution - the things that made us great and define the USA. Seriously, I'd like to stick my carbon footprint up Obama's ass.
On that note, bedtime for me.

Interesting - I also look like Jamie Lynn Spears. I share the teen motherhood with her, though.

bisty_icons by now. I've been playing around, trying to make icons in a similar style. She's got that vintage look down and is all kinds of awesome. Mine are less awesome and not really vintage-looking at all. At any rate, the point is that I've made a few different icon styles, and if any of you would like me to personalize one or more for you, drop me a comment and I will.
I actually might have one made for you already. I went a little nuts tonight.
Here are the icon styles to choose from.

1) Happy Square Root Day. There are only nine Square Root Days per century, so enjoy it. The next one is seven years away. *nods*
2) Twitter is taking over my life. And I think I like it.
3) I stopped by the new Chick-Fil-A in town to see if it was open and they were doing a pre-opening training exercise with free food! Chicken strips, waffle fries, sweet tea, and a strawberry shake later my wallet is no less empty and my stomach is much more full! Win!
4) How cute is Abby on NCIS? I love her.
5) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAM!
6)
